JUNE LUNCHEON

How to attract and keep your Latino customers.

Hector Zavala

They represent more than 15 percent of the U.S. population and eight percent of the country's buying power. If you're not talking to the growing Latino market, you're missing a lucrative segment. But before you do, head for June's AMA lunch event and pick up essential tips from Hector Zavala of Sun Stone Communications in Portland - specialists in Latino marketing. You'll not only learn how to identify your ideal customers from the mix of some 20 different Latino nationalities, but better understand the cultural differences that can make or break your next marketing campaign.

Reserve your seat for "The whole enchilada: everything you need to know about connecting to the Latino market".

PRESIDENT'S LETTER

Debbie Long, President Elect, SW Oregon

Debbie Long, President, SW Oregon

Another Great Year!

It's been a wonderful year! We've exceeded membership with the highest number of members to date, and we've moved to our new location at the Hilton, which surveys report is meeting member expectations. Now that we are approaching the last month of my term as President, it's time to pass the baton off to our new President, Jenny Obermiller, who has been instrumental in helping co-lead the Chapter as President Elect this year. Jenny will take over in July and her excellent leadership and organization will continue the Chapter on with great success.

I'd like to thank each and every one of the Board members for all their continued support and the personal time they have put into ensuring that each luncheon runs smoothly. It is because of each of them, as well as our other committee volunteers that we are able to bring the Southwest Oregon AMA Chapter luncheons to you.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you this year!

- Debbie Long, President

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Tara Kemp

Tara Kemp

Congrats to Tara Kemp for being nominated as the Volunteer of the Month for June! Tara assists our Chapter by assisting with the creation and design of special event postcards and promotional materials. Tara has been a member of the AMA for one year and in that time she has enjoyed the opportunity to meet, work with and learn from our community's top notch marketing professionals. Tara left a career of art jewelry design seven years ago to start her own company, Tara Kemp Graphic Design, where she enjoys working in the dual capacity of owner and designer. Tara's favorite aspect of her job is the "creative collaboration involved in helping people manifest their visions." In her spare time, Tara enjoys writing songs, singing and performing with her accordion, guitar and mandolin.
