NOVEMBER LUNCHEON
Webstyles of the rich and famous: creating the ultimate online experience for your visitors
The Empire Group
Meanwhile, at the Web site awards show...
"Thank you for this wonderful honor. It makes all the hard work worth it... the grueling 24/7 schedule, the never-ending stream of visitors, the constant clicking and downloading. I'd like to thank my programmer for my user-friendliness, my designer for making me so irresistible, my SEO expert for putting the word out on the street, and my brilliant strategist - great navigation, Bob. And, of course, no award-winning Web site would be complete without fabulous writing. Love ya, Erin! But I truly wouldn't be here today without Jonathon Hensley, president of the Empire Group. His knowledge of sticky content, landing zones, content management, and everything else that goes into an award-winning site is incredible. In fact, you can hear him speak about it all at the next AMA lunch event. I know I'll be there - struttin' my stuff!"

PRESIDENT'S LETTER
Jenny Obermiller, President
November - A Time to Give Thanks
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Not only do I get to eat copious amounts of turkey, mashed potatoes and pie, but the season also provides me with an opportunity to give thanks for all for which I am grateful. In this spirit, I'd like to thank our 2006/07 Board of Directors for all they provide to our chapter and to our community.
The following are individual "thank you's" to our board - one of the most amazing groups of professionals with whom I've ever worked.
Christine Morgan, President Elect - Thank you for being a role model to me. You are one of the most involved, dedicated individuals I've met. You are beautiful on the inside and out and it is my pleasure to work closely with you this year.
Janis Ross, VP Programming - Thank you for booking all of our luncheons and bringing a sense of professionalism to our programs.
Josh Coen, Secretary - Thanks for taking diligent notes (and keeping up with a verbose group of Promoters at all of our meetings). Thank you also for writing the copy on our postcards every month.
Mark Tschetter, VP Technology - Thank you for your unwavering commitment to improving our technology year in and year out. (For those of you, who haven't set up a member profile, please do so online at www.eugeneama.com in the "Members Only" area). Mark and the Feynman Group are one of the most valued assets on our board.
Sarah Coffman, Treasurer - Thank you for being one of our only Board members who thinks analytically. And the only one of us who is brave enough to run the credit card machine at our luncheons.
Anne Marie Levis, VP Public Relations - Kudos to Anne Marie, who despite owning a business and being involved in multiple boards, has single-handedly lead our chapter to develop new and creative opportunities for us to network with each other. I learn so much from working with you.
Dana Turell, Co-VP Communications - Thank you for being a new, dynamic asset to our Board. I treasure your ideas, your intelligence and your ability to take the bull by the horns and run with it.
Kelly Colvin-Smith, Co-VP Communications - Thanks for providing our chapter with three years of communication expertise. You have grown our Communications materials and position and given Southwest Oregon a national reputation for quality of marketing materials. We couldn't have done this without you. I am going to miss you so much.
Tammy Lockwood, VP Technology - Thanks to Tammy for reporting to us consistently each month a synopsis of our luncheons, advising on where we need improvement, what we're doing well, etc.
Alma Hesus, VP Collegiate Relations - Kudos for integrating students with professionals, and for attending nearly all of the weekly collegiate meetings at the University of Oregon.
Karen Ory, Co-VP Membership - Thank you for working on developing creative initiatives to help retain members.
Linda Apling, Co-VP Membership - Thanks for consistently coming up with ideas on how to recruit new members and for providing the board with so much insight into the world of marketing.
Ed Bergeron, Past President - Kudos to Ed for staying on two years as our past-president representative. Ed is instrumental in working with all of us to ensure that we don't lose sight of who we are as a chapter and where we want to go as a Board.
To our 55+ Active Volunteers: You are the conduits that help us accomplish our goals. I admire you all for your dedication to and involvement with our chapter.
To our Members: Thank you for finding value in all the AMA has to offer - from educational seminars to networking and beyond. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for you and your support.
If you would like to be involved in the AMA as a volunteer, please contact me at: jenny.obermiller@siuslawbank.com.
I look forward to hearing from you!
- Jenny

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Sarah Lenhart
We'd like to extend our warmest thanks to Sarah Lenhart for her hard work and dedication as an AMA volunteer. For the past 18 months, Sarah has interviewed AMA's Volunteer of the Month and written the announcement for eNews and our table tents. She enjoyed her position because it allowed her to meet and interact with many AMA volunteers.
Formerly marketing and public relations manager for SilverLite Trailers, Sarah and her husband, Jamie, are relocating to Portland, where Jamie will work with a Foursquare church. Sarah's currently interviewing for positions in marketing and public relations in the Portland area.
Sarah and Jamie love ballroom dancing and performing arts, and wish they'd been alive in the 1950s with the culture of dinner parties, cocktail gatherings, Big Band music and swing. Her favorite thing about autumn is the anticipation of the holidays and her family's Pumpkin-Carving-Reuben-Night tradition, when they get together for grilled Reuben sandwiches, snacks and pumpkin carving action.
Thank you, Sarah. Best of luck in Portland!
